Beside its use in everyday paper, calcium carbonate is increasingly used in the specialty segment as a filler and as a coating pigment.
Special fillers are typically used in cigarette paper, special newsprint, bank notes, securities, etc.
Typical applications for special coating pigments are inkjet papers, high gloss packaging for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and cigarettes, cast coated paper, etc.
Specially designed, synthesized, modified and/or mixed products of natural and precipitated calcium carbonate today meet nearly all requirements from papermakers and printers.
